Head Coach

Alexis Lavie

My name is Alexis Lavie, I am 35 years old, and I am of French origin. I lived in France for 30 years and currently reside in Mauritius. I worked for two years with a company in Mauritius as a head tennis coach, and I have been self-employed since early March 2020. Being involved in the tennis world from a young age, initially as a player, I started introducing tennis at my training club when I was 15 years old, eventually transitioning to coaching roles. A true tennis enthusiast for over 25 years, I obtained my State Diploma in France in 2014 (along with other complementary diplomas) and gained various experiences in several clubs in the southwest of France. I spent 8 years in one club where I honed my coaching skills, followed by 3 years in a club where I handled all aspects of management. In addition to coaching, I gained experience as a substitute Physical Education teacher in private schools, as well as in organizing and managing extracurricular activities. I also worked as an Early Childhood Animator in nursery schools. My experiences and this diploma provide me with both the core skills of the profession, such as pedagogy, teaching, training, and interpersonal skills, and also skills in company management, including accounting, project implementation, administration, and management. I believe that all these skills are essential for the sustainable development of an activity. My journey since the beginning has been aimed at sharing my passion for this sport with a diverse clientele. To practice this profession, it's not just about having a good tennis level but, most importantly (and this is what I appreciate the most), continuously adapting. This involves constant reflection on different pedagogical situations for the benefit of the client, continuous evolution in pedagogical approach, and a willingness to question oneself in order to keep progressing in teaching.
